Sir ,dont tempt fate again.

The euphoria is gone. I am back to baseline. I am certainly not drunk. I don't imbibe at all. This is written with the clarity of day and with some degree of urgency because after the historic events of yesterday we as a club now stand on the precipice of a monumental decision which may have far reaching consequences. Though I doubt Roman reads what we write here anyway I address this article primarily to him because I was far less vocal when we faced this sort of decision twice so far in the Roman era even though I knew in my gut each time that our great benefactor was making a big mistake each time. History on both occasions proved my fears right and his decisions wrong and so this time I want to place in black and white in the print media my views on the major decision that Roman needs to make shortly. Dear sir you have already tempted fate twice, you have already been blessed with two double winning coaches, the first of course was Jose who some may forget won a double in his very first year with us, the Carling Cup and the league title. He followed that up with a series of more trophies and the best run of form Chelsea has seen in a generation. Because he had the audacity to ask for full control of all football matters and balked at being given Trojan gifts he never asked for (Sheva) he got shown the door. He has since then won literally everything with Inter and led Real to a La Liga title after they had been in the wilderness for years. He hasn't done too bad. Roman you chose Phil Scolari as his replacement and we all know how that went, he club went into free fall and it took a major rescue job from your friend Guus Hiddink to save us from absolute football disaster, namely falling out of Champions League contention. Fast forward, you got another double winning coach in Carlo Ancelloti who won with style, scoring goals by the bucket load and was the perfect gentleman. He swallowed his pride and worked the best he could with your next Trojan gift (El Nino) and in his second season managed a second place BPL finish while working with an aging side ravaged with injury and who virtually everyone who had an interest in Chelsea knew needed major revamping His reward was getting a pink slip in the tunnel at Goodison Park. This guy has literally won it all as player and coach and since leaving us is leading PSG to what may be their first league title in years depending on how results go later today. He hasn't done too badly since leaving us. Your replacement for him was AVB and we all know how that experiment went, for all his good intentions the guy made all sorts of really bad records and the club was once again in free fall to put it mildly. You asked him to literally do the impossible. You gave him Conan the Barbarian and told him to seize Conan's Broad sword and battle axe and instead force Conan to win using Zorro's rapier. The results were disastrous and there is virtually no-one who knows a thing about football who does not acknowledge that had you not pulled the plug when you did this season would have been historic for all the wrong reasons. You now have another double winning coach on your hands; RDM. Roman are you really going to tempt fate again and reward his success and results with a pink slip? Have you learnt nothing from the past? I know what the nay sayers will say, we want to play tika-taka like Barca. We wanted to play Bayern off the pitch, we won yesterday but we did not dominate, rather we were dominated. People get real, as my pal Rockhead would say, we did not have the horses to run that kind of race. We were badly hamstrung with suspensions and injuries, the squad has a substantive amount of deadwood and this is a side built like Conan, you really expect it to compete like Zorro? RDM the pragmatist (and realist) he is knew this reality all along and did the best he could with the little he was given. I would agree that if I were in his position yesterday I would have timed my subs earlier and brought in Torres earlier but please that is just nit-picking. Let us keep the big picture here. Are you seriously going to reward the success this man who is a Chelsea legend based on his playing history alone (not to now include his coaching achievements in such a short while and with so little) with the sack? Roman ask any coach out there who has coached this game at the highest level, they will tell you straight up, you do not change a winning hand.before yesterday`s match Jupp Heynckes said it clearly that irrespective of the outcome yesterday he felt RDM deserved the job. Obviously Roman you pay all the bills, it is your Billions that have brought Chelsea to where we are today but may this humble no name fan give you some advice. I may not have your business acumen or a fraction of your wealth but please before you make this decision can you please seek advice from people who are not your yes men or syncophants? Can you ask people like your friend Guus who actually know football not just about it what they would do in this situation? Please do what you must quickly, RDM has a double winning season on his resume. You gave AVB a 3 year contract based on a single season in the weak Portuguese league based on his winning their league (which they won again this year without him), their version of the FA cup and the Europa league title. Based on the degree of difficulty and quality of the trophies RDM has at least matched that achievement. Please don't insult him and us fans by offering him just a year contract, we are not fools, we know what that is! It is an interim job extension to allow you tap up Pep once again in a year when he has maybe completed his sabbatical. If you don't want to offer RDM the job just come out quickly and say so. He will do well, the other double winning coaches you sacked haven't done badly and Lazio amongst others are waiting to snap him up if you see no value in him. If you are going to offer him the job it has to be for at least 2 years and I would argue 3 years. Also for the sake of all that is good if you offer him the job please back the guy fully not half-heartedly. Provide him the players he needs to rebuild our storied club. Don`t ask him to fight like Zorro and give him the tools of Conan. Please get a DOF who has the cajones and experience to stand up to you and tell you the hard truths that need to be told and give you quality advice rather than just be another syncophant. Add value to our board so it looks like others out there that have a long history and tradition of success (Bayern`s is nice example) This will help RDM tremendously as well as the club. Finally sir, I know you want it all, you want results and you want them yesterday, you want Jogo Bonito and Tika taka all rolled into one, you want a coach who has no ego and so will essentially be a yes man to our board despite the fact that it has people who honestly don't have an impressive football IQ. You want someone who will also allow you to tinker and will accept with thanks any and all Trojan gifts you decide to buy for the club. Sir, I would ask that you wake up to reality; even you with all your wealth cannot have it all. You need to be pragmatic and decide which on that lofty wish list are the most important and if I may suggest I would say getting results and being able to work with you and the board are the most important ingredients. Everything so far points to the fact that RDM ticks the boxes on both of these. My rant is over, the decision is ultimately yours but sir, be warned, be wary of tempting fate a third time, we (Chelsea FC) may pay a very heavy price for it on the third time asking. We have barely escaped twice before - 'he who being often reproved hardens his neck and refuses to change will have it broken suddenly and that without remedy' - a quote from Proverbs in the world wide best seller called the Bible.

facts that backed chelsea to win the ucl

I know many of us seriously doubted the chances of us winning once we went down 1-0 with 7 minutes to play. However, to me, after beating Barca in that fashion, I believed fate was on our side still. Drogba struck and we pulled through in penalties. I saw someone post these facts/stats showing why it was Chelsea's destiny to win yesterday (credit to the person who found these stats). 8 REASONS WHY CHELSEA WON ON SATURDAY! 1. The last team (Inter Milan) to knock Barcelona out of the Champions League went on to lift the trophy and win the competition against Bayern Munich in the final. 2. The last time Atletico Madrid won the Europa League, Chelsea won a Double. 3. The last English team (Manchester United) to knock Barcelona out of the Champions League, went on to lift the trophy and win the competition. 4. An English team (Manchester United) has previously won the FA Cup and gone on to win the Champions League, beating Bayern Munich in the final who lost the DFB Pokal during that season. 5. The last time Manchester City won the league title, an English team (Manchester United) won the European Cup. 6. All Champions League finals played in Munich produced a winner of the competition for the first time in their history (Nottingham Forest, Marseille and Dortmund). They all took place in Bayern Munich's previous home, the Olympiastadion. 7. The last time Manchester United went Trophyless an English Club won the Champions League (Liverpool) and they didn't finish in the top 4. 8. The Champions League Finale was on 19-05 and Chelsea Football Club was found in 1905 I found it interesting. Hope you guys do too.
